Commissioned by South Somerset District Council, Element Urbanism, in partnership with JLL, developed a town centre masterplan and delivery model incorporating development concepts for several large strategic sites together with guidance for the public realm, pedestrian movement, parking and land uses – requiring extensive stakeholder and public consultation. 

The masterplan advocates a more diversified town centre offer to appeal to a wider range of visitors, the protection and celebration of its historical assets and the embracing of its regional function and identity as the County capital.

The masterplan has been successful in kick-starting investment and securing funding for public realm and access enhancements.
